In 2013, there was a suicide bombing in the All Saints Church in Pashawar, Pakistan. More than 80 were killed instantly and 130 were seriously injured. Children were left orphaned and with nowhere to go. We set up a children’s home called the Mother Care Center where the injured children would have medical attention, daily food provided, and personalized care. We celebrated its one-year-anniversary in March 2015. With much prayer and many gifts toward medical care, the children were in most cases healed! You can read more about that here in part 1, part 2, part 3, and part 4.
Unfortunately, just this last week, there was cause for an emergency evacuation and they are now in need of new accommodation. Please pray for their safety and protection.
In addition to the Mother Care Center, we have been active in supporting the Manoha Children’s Home, which is for orphans. Many children have joined us after having lived on the streets or been through other traumatic events. Click here for the story.
Our primary goal in Pakistan is to help the needy with the love of Jesus, but as it is written in James 2:15-17, “If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,’ but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” We give practical assistance and care to widows and orphans and victims of natural disasters or persecution.
What can I do?
If you would like to help support the work in Pakistan, please click here and prayerfully consider sponsoring one of the orphans in our care.
